In October of 2010, Mom had the opportunity to see the new camp property for the first and only time. I am thrilled that she was able to experience firsthand the progress on the property. Dad and Mom were always very generous to all the members of the family, and they were excited about family members serving God around the world (Portugal, Mexico, and all across United States). Today, however, Mom has an even greater joy. She is able to see her precious Savior and be reunited with her wonderful husband. On July 1 after a brief illness, Mom went home to be with the Lord.
Luke 12:48 tells us that of “whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required.” For me, that is a sobering thought. Dad and Mom were wonderful examples of a Christ honoring lifestyle. I can only remember of one disagreement in our home growing up, but I can remember countless times when dad and mom invited people into their home for encouragement and Christian fellowship. I can also think of those that have come to Christ and are serving Him today as a result of their testimony. Yes, I have been given MUCH, but I am thankful for my godly heritage. My desire is to faithfully serve my great God until the day that He escorts me into heaven to spend eternity with the one that gave His Life for me. Oh yes, I also look forward to being reunited with my dad and mom.
