In the early spring, some friends sent money for half a cabin and asked if we could raise the money for the other half. We left our supporting friends know about the need and the Lord provided not only the other half of the cabin, but about $6,000 extra. We decided to use that extra money to pour footers and lay the block for two additional cabins. As additional monies come in over the winter, we can continue building cabins without being delayed by frozen ground.
It was a huge blessing to have the concrete company place the blocks directly into the foundation. When we ordered the block for the first two cabins, the snow prevented the truck from getting up the hill to the cabins. The blocks were unloaded at the bottom of the hill, and we had to manually move the block into the foundation. When we ordered the blocks for the second two cabins, the truck got stuck in the mud before he arrived at the cabins. Once again, we had to manually move the block into the foundation. It was a real blessing to have the blocks placed directly into the foundation for the next two cabins.
