Matt Clouser works at a children’s home. When he heard that they were replacing all the mattresses, he thought of Servant’s Heart Camp. This past Saturday, I went and looked at the mattresses. They are very high quality mattresses in excellent (almost new) condition. As soon as the new mattresses arrive at the children’s home they will donate their “old” mattresses to Servant’s Heart. Wow, what a blessing from God!
We have received the preliminary plans for the initial home on the property. The picture is a computer generated rendition of the completed home. The home has a finished basement with a separate entrance which can be used for speakers or other camp guests.
At this point, we are debating on the exterior of the home, cabins, and lodge. Log siding is beautiful and campy, but it is very expensive and it require a great deal of maintenance. The board and batten (shown on this plan) is less expensive, but it still requires maintenance. Vinyl siding is the least expensive and also the least maintenance, but it does not give the campy look that we would like for our new property. The board has approved paying a builder to enclose the home. After the home is enclosed, we will seek volunteer labor to finish the building. Pray with us as we select a builder and also make the decision concerning the outside of the buildings.
