Cabins
The Friday before the first Monday of staff training, the building inspector gave us the "go-ahead" to occupy the
two cabins pictured. It was the result of many people sacrificing in many ways. Some helped pay for the project and
others helped to build, wire, plumb, paint, and stain the cabins. More specifically it was a miracle from God.
We were thankful to have all the campers housed in our four cabins this past summer.
Now that summer camp is over, we have dug two more cabins. The footers are poured, the block foundation walls are up, and the
floor decks are installed. At this point, we are waiting for God to provide the needed finances to finish these two cabins. The board
has opted to save all our currently available finances to install the utilities as soon as we are approved.
If you would like to support God's work through a year-end gift to SHCM, it would be a blessing.

Likeness of Men
Sometime this Christmas season, I would encourage you to read the Christmas
story from Philippians 2. In verse 7, we are told how Jesus Christ was made in the
likeness of men. To us, that does not sound so bad. The only life we know is
the life in the confines of this human flesh-suit. With teenagers I have used the
example of a person willing to take on the likeness of an opossum. I don't know about
you, but I think opossums are ugly and disgusting. I would not want to be an opossum.
If, however, I were to take on the confines of an opossum it would not compare
to what Christ did by taking on the confines of a human being. Not only did he take on the
limitations of a human, but he died the most cruel death known to man. Why did He do it? He did
it so that you and I could have life, not just any life but ABUNDANT life. Praise God for His sacrifice
for us. Merry Christmas.

Lake
As you may know, there have been many challenges in developing this property. Because the DEP
denied our first permit for utilities, our engineering firm decided that we should have a meeting with
all the regulatory people involved to insure that the next application would be accepted. At that meeting,
it seemed positive that we could start installing utilities next spring. Near the end of the meeting, however,
the final authority at the Williamsport DEP, told us that he would not sign our utility permit until we verified
the integrity and safety of the dam. We have just signed an agreement for an engineering firm to perform a breech
analysis to determine the potential loss of life or property in the event of a dam failure. It would be a huge
blessing if the dam could be classified as a low hazard dam rather than a medium or high hazard dam.
Pray with us concerning these issues.
