Concrete Structures

Today, the first load of sewage and stormwater concrete structures arrived on the property. Almost all of these items will be buried in the ground with just a cover or grate showing. I am not expecting anyone to come to camp and express appreciation for a sewage manhole. Nevertheless, I am excited to see these items coming to the property in preparation for digging next week.

As I thought about these structures, I was struck with a thought. Sometimes God calls me to be a manhole. Sometimes I have unseen and unappreciated jobs. I was challenged anew that if God calls me to be a manhole, I want to be a manhole that does my best for God’s glory.

Pre-Construction Meeting

Today, we had the pre-construction meeting for installing phase 1 of the utilities. There were nine men at the meeting and each of them had authority in some aspect of the project. Nine men with authority meeting together is a formula for significant conflict. God was very gracious and the meeting went very well.

Everything is still on track and the first load of the concrete structures (Wet well, manholes, etc) should arrive on Wednesday. The excavation equipment should arrive on Friday or Monday, and by Tuesday of next week we should be moving ground. To God be the glory!
