Spring Work Days

Wow, what a weekend!  This was our spring work weekend, and it was a super neat time of hard work and invigorating fellowship.  We had lots of people come to work that had never been at camp before this weekend.   We had people from Indiana, Connecticut, Tennessee, and Michigan.  Our three summer staff members from North Carolina also arrived today.  We were able to accomplish LOTS of projects including setting up three additional tents so that we can keep the teams somewhat separated.  We believe that we are meeting the guidelines of the CDC and ACA without hampering the camp experience for the campers this summer.  THANK YOU to each one that helped to work.  You were a huge blessing!

John Deere 855

Near the end of last year, we described several projects that we were hoping to accomplish this spring.  People gave generously and we are able to do several of those projects.  At that time, we described the homeowner type of lawn mower that we were using.  Our estimated need for a new (to us) tractor was met and we started searching.  We search most of the winter but could not find the right tractor in our price range.  Last week, I talked to a guy from Ohio that has a soft spot in his heart for Christian camps.  He lowered his asking price and offered free deliver.  Today, he made four-hour trip to deliver this 4×4 diesel John Deer 855 tractor with a 6’ bellow mower.  A special Thank you to Drew for making the trip, and to the person that provided the finances.  Praise God for orchestrating the details.  To God be the glory, great things He is doing.
